You can now work from Al Barsha Pond Park without balancing your laptop on a café table. Dubai's new Work from Park space offers equipped workstations from Dh50 a day, including a coffee, with operating hours from 8am to 8pm. Outdoor shared working areas are free. There are also meeting facilities and quiet spaces, with room for around 100 people. Not a bad change of scenery for remote workers.

The details

Dubai Municipality opened its first Work from Park destination at Al Barsha Pond Park on Monday, 2 November, introducing a flexible workspace within one of the emirate's popular neighbourhood parks.

The initiative is being developed in partnership with Group AMANA and Letswork, combining conventional workspace facilities with the surrounding park environment.

The facility operates daily from 8am to 8pm.

Visitors can purchase a day pass for Dh50, which includes access to equipped working facilities and a complimentary coffee. Existing Letswork members can use 10 membership credits for a day pass.

According to reporting from the opening, outdoor shared working areas are available free of charge, while the equipped workspaces are paid.

The facility can accommodate approximately 100 people and provides different arrangements for individual work, meetings and study.

Private rooms and meeting facilities are available for people who need quieter surroundings.

Dubai Municipality selected Al Barsha Pond Park because of its accessible neighbourhood location and existing amenities, including jogging tracks, children's play areas and the pond itself.

The project is intended to make public parks useful for more than recreation and exercise.

The partners are considering expanding the concept to additional parks and potentially other outdoor destinations.
