Dubai RTA has completed 20km of road repairs across five major routes, including E311, E611, Lehbab Road, Dubai–Al Ain Road and Al Rebat Street. Khaleej Times reports that the work focused on slow lanes, potholes and damaged road surfaces. Laser scanners and AI helped identify sections needing attention. A little less wear and tear for regular commuters.
The details
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has completed approximately 20km of road repair and preventive maintenance work across five major routes.
The completion was announced on 3 November 2026.
The affected routes include Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, E311, Emirates Road, E611, Lehbab Road, Dubai–Al Ain Road and Al Rebat Street.
The work primarily focused on slow lanes and road sections requiring surface repairs.
On E311, maintenance covered sections in both directions towards Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Work on Lehbab Road included the free-flow lane used by motorists travelling from Al Ain towards Lehbab, alongside turning lanes near the Jebel Ali–Lehbab interchange.
RTA used laser scanning and artificial intelligence-assisted inspection to identify cracks, potholes and deterioration in road surfaces.
The authority says preventive inspections allow maintenance teams to identify problems before they develop into more serious road defects.
The completed programme forms part of Dubai's ongoing efforts to maintain road safety and preserve the capacity of the emirate's growing road network.
Completion of this maintenance programme should not be confused with separate temporary closures or railway-related construction work affecting other sections of E611.
Motorists should continue following posted signs and current traffic advisories.
