The details

Dubai Ride attracted a record 41,836 participants on Sunday, 1 November, turning Sheikh Zayed Road and parts of Downtown Dubai into traffic-free cycling routes.

The annual event formed part of the opening weekend of the 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge.

According to organisers, participation exceeded the previous year's record of 40,327 cyclists.

The 2026 turnout represented an increase of 1,509 participants.

Two routes were available.

The longer 12km route ran along Sheikh Zayed Road and passed landmarks including the Museum of the Future and Dubai Water Canal.

A shorter 4km route offered families and less experienced cyclists an opportunity to ride through Downtown Dubai, passing locations including Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa.

The event was not organised as a timed race, allowing participants to cycle at their own pace.

Facilities were also provided for People of Determination, including dedicated arrangements for adapted bicycles and handcycles.

The roads were reopened to normal traffic after the morning event concluded.

Dubai Ride has finished for 2026, but the broader Dubai Fitness Challenge remains active until 29 November, with free community events and activities across the city.
