The details

Abu Dhabi Mobility has announced a series of road restrictions affecting the E22 Abu Dhabi–Al Ain Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street (E12).

The E22 changes took effect at midnight on 31 October and are scheduled to continue until 5am on 30 January 2027.

The works involve road closures, traffic diversions and reduced speed limits. On affected stretches, the previous 160km/h limit will be lowered to 140km/h or 120km/h, depending on the section.

Separately, the right lane on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street towards Saadiyat Island is scheduled to remain closed from 2pm on 30 October until 6am on 2 November.

Other temporary weekend lane restrictions have also been announced in parts of Abu Dhabi.

Motorists should follow posted limits rather than relying on previous familiarity with the roads, especially when travelling at night or during periods of reduced visibility.
