The UAE Ministry of Interior launched a school-road-safety campaign for the new academic year. It targets students, parents, school-bus drivers and supervisors with guidance on safer journeys and bus stops.

The Ministry of Interior, through the Federal Traffic Council, launched a school-road-safety campaign on 1 September under the slogan “Safe Road for Our Students”.

The campaign targets students, parents, school-bus drivers and supervisors. Its guidance covers behaviour on school buses, boarding and disembarking procedures, and precautions around schools and residential areas.

Students are advised to arrive at bus stops five minutes before collection, remain calm during journeys and move at least 10 steps away from the bus after leaving it so they remain visible to the driver.

Campaign materials are available in Arabic, English and Urdu. The messages are being distributed through social media and coordinated with traffic-safety authorities.

The campaign is an operational safety initiative and should not be confused with a new traffic fine or change to school-bus regulations.
