Abu Dhabi unveiled 18 specialised smart ambulances, including mobile ICU, maternal and neonatal units. The vehicles are designed to provide advanced care from the first emergency response through arrival at hospital.
The details
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health and Civil Defence Authority unveiled a new fleet of 18 specialised ambulances in August.
The fleet includes mobile intensive-care ambulances, maternal and neonatal ambulances and vehicles designed for patients requiring additional mobility support. The units are intended for complex medical emergencies where patients need advanced care before reaching a hospital.
The authorities described the vehicles as part of a broader effort to bring specialised emergency care closer to communities. Equipment and configuration vary according to the type of patient and medical support required.
The initiative does not replace ordinary emergency ambulances. Instead, it adds specialised capacity for cases requiring intensive care, maternal or neonatal support, or adapted transport arrangements.
