Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre announced that its school-transport system was ready for the 2026–2027 academic year, with inspections covering more than 10,000 licensed school buses.

The programme included checks on vehicle readiness, safety standards, operating companies, drivers, supervisors and digital transport services. ITC said the system was being prepared to transport more than 279,000 students across the emirate.

The inspections were part of a wider operational plan coordinated with schools and transport operators. The authority said the aim was to ensure an organised start to the school year and strengthen the safety of students travelling between home and school.

The announcement is separate from the national school-calendar Signal because it concerns Abu Dhabi’s transport preparation and inspection system rather than the academic dates themselves.
