Dubai expanded its Bus-on-Demand service to Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Mirdif, bringing coverage to 20 areas. The service connects neighbourhoods with public transport through app-based bookings.
The details
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority expanded its Bus-on-Demand service to Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Mirdif in August, bringing the number of covered areas to 20.
The service is designed to provide flexible first- and last-mile connections between residential neighbourhoods and public transport stations. Users book journeys through the Dubai Bus-on-Demand app and can pay using credit cards, debit cards or nol cards.
RTA said the service carried 527,000 riders during the first half of 2026, a 25.1% increase compared with the same period in 2025. The fleet had expanded to 55 buses to meet demand.
Residents in the newly covered areas can use the service as an alternative to fixed-route buses for short local connections, although availability and journey times depend on bookings and operating conditions.
