Sharjah extended paid-parking hours across the emirate to midnight from 1 July. The change applies to public parking in Sharjah City, Kalba, Khorfakkan and Al Dhaid.
The details
Sharjah Municipality extended paid public-parking hours to midnight from 1 July 2026. The change applies across Sharjah City, Kalba, Khorfakkan and Al Dhaid, particularly in areas previously identified with yellow signage.
The revised schedule brings those areas into line with blue-sign parking zones that already operated until midnight. Parking fees generally apply from 8am to midnight, while parking remains free on Fridays and official public holidays except in locations designated as chargeable throughout the week.
The municipality said the decision affects approximately 124,000 paid public parking spaces. It is intended to standardise operating hours, improve turnover and respond to demand in busy commercial and residential areas.
Seasonal subscription fees remain unchanged. Subscribers receive two additional hours of daily coverage, increasing the covered period from 14 to 16 hours. Motorists should still check the signage at individual locations because some zones remain subject to special rules, including charges on Fridays and public holidays.
